Welcome to my blog!
My husband Caleb and I did Mission Year married 2005-2006. We stayed living in Atlanta after Mission Year and just bought our first house here! I recently started working for Mission Year in the development department and I am excited to be on staff. Caleb and I are expecting our first baby in December.

Merry Christmas! / Dec 12, 11:49 AM
It’s hard to believe that Thanksgiving is past and Christmas will soon be here. This year has been an interesting year for me to “prepare” for Christmas. I started a bible study on the life of Jesus and the author begins with looking into his birth and taking a closer look at Mary and Joseph. This year, as Caleb and I prepare to celebrate the birth of Jesus, we also prepare to celebrate the birth of our first baby. I have thought often this year of what Mary and Joseph must of been feeling as they made the long trip to Bethlehem (I will be honest, if Caleb wanted to take me that far on a donkey at this point, I would have some things to say about that). But, they trusted God and His faithfulness! As I begin to prepare (maybe should have started “preparing” before now since we could be here any day) for the changes that are going to take place in our family in the next week or so, I am trusting God to give me wisdom and direction.
This year will be the first year that we are staying in Atlanta for Christmas and also the first year that we will be in our new house. It’s exciting to think about having neighbors and friends over to share in the Christmas season together. We have also tried to come up with “traditions” that we can continue. I feel like my mom! I just wish that it would snow. Since it’s been in the high 70’s this week, so I am not counting on that. Oh well…we will have traditions that are not based on snow…no Christmas Eve sledding!
Anyway, I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas…celebrating the most amazing baby ever born and the best gift we could have been given. Merry Christmas! ~Ashlee
