2 Thessalonians 3:10 / 06.18.09, 11:44 AM
“For even when we were with you we commanded you this: if anyone will not work, neither shall he eat”
I began work yesterday at a local fruit packing house, this is my very first Job. Something about coming home hungry and having a reason to shower does a man good. something in the simplicity of working pleases my soul. How much work did God intend for a man to do?
I am working this whole summer so that I may raise support for the upcoming year, then i will proceed to do the work of Christ!

Josh – a pastor friend of mine once pointed out Col 3:23-24 to me when I felt my job was not as significant as his —“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.”
I’ll always remember what he said: “All work is kingdom work.”
May you be encouraged by this too – your summer job is also the work of Christ. Have a great summer!

Go, Josh, go! May God’s Grace be sufficient unto thee! And your question about how much work God intended for us to do? All of it, till His Work is done! But don’t forget to play and rest!
