Why I'm Doing Mission Year?
I am doing Mission Year because I am passionate about working in Inner Cities to improve the lives of people there who have the potential to succeed. I particularly enjoy working with an empowering youth. My desire is to someday be the director of a youth empowerment program, and/or manage a charter school. Working with youth in Atlanta and Clarkston, Georgia will enable me to develop the necessary skills to empower youth and work to improve public education and learn how to find better resources for youth who struggle in the world of urban education.
About Mission Year
Mission Year is a year long urban ministry program focused on Christian service and discipleship. We take teams of young people, place them in an area of need, and help them to serve people and create community. We are committed to the command of Jesus to “love God and love people,” by placing the needs of our neighbors first and developing committed disciples of Christ with a heart for the poor.
