Sabbath / May 9, 10:58 AM

In Mission Year we have what is called a Sabbath. In Philly our Sabbath is on Friday.

I was walking this morning to Cornerstone Christian Academy (the school I volunteer at) and I was had a conversation with God.

I realized that my Sabbath’s were not focused around what Sabbath was all about. God meant for Sabbath to be a day of rest, mine has been hectic. God wants me to seek His rest, because often I am tired from the week that has just passed.

So here in my plan for Sabbath:

1. Do not worry about what they day brings.
2. Rest in God’s presence.
3. Remember the Sabbath and keep it Holy (in Friday’s Term).
4. Rest in God’s word outdoors or indoors and re-energize for the week to come.
5. Sleep a little bit longer.
6. Pray.
7. Hold fast to God’s love for me.
8. Journal about my thoughts and about what went on.
9. Go for a walk or go enjoy God’s creation.
10. Worship the Creator that brought life to me.

Sabbath is for rest.
I got to remind myself of that.
