Why I'm doing Mission Year
A bit about myself:
My name is Nadine Janzen, I’ m a 19 year old Canadian who loves Jesus, family & friends, fireworks, camp, the beach etc. I love the excitement of not knowing what comes next. I’m a spontaneous, wandering adventurer who lives in the moment and tries to enjoy each day as it comes. I’m moving to Atlanta in less than a month to do Mission Year 09-10. I am super excited to see what kind of challenges and blessings God has in store for this year of my life. I graduated from high school in 2008. I went on a mission trip to Ecuador when I was 13 and ever since then I’ve been pretty passionate about international missions but in the past year or so God has really turned my heart towards the inner city. I still hope to become a missionary someday but I’m alot more open to whether it’s here in North America or somewhere else in the world. Umm…if you want to know more look me up on Facebook or check out my blog:

Why I’m doing Mission Year:
I’m doing Mission Year because I want to become more like Jesus. I want His hurts to become my hurts. I want the things that break His heart to break mine too. I want the things that make Him laugh to make me laugh. I want to know Him and become like Him and see Him in the people that I meet and interact with. I think living in community is going to be a fantastic way to put His love into practice. It’s going to be hard. But just about everything that is the hardest to do is the most worth it.
I want to learn how to trust and and be bold. I want to learn how to be brave and trust God unconditionally. I want to live out the Bible, even the hard parts. I want to be a part of the upside down kingdom, the irresistible revolution. I want to store up some eternal rewards. I want my heart to be in heaven and therefore have my treasures be stored up there too. I want to live abundantly. I want to laugh harder than I’ve ever laughed and I want to cry more than I’ve ever cried. I want to feel and I want to learn and I want to love. I want to live in the moment and embrace this day that God has given us instead of always looking to the future.
Have a fantastic day!
Blessings,
Nadine
About Mission Year
Mission Year is a year long urban ministry program focused on Christian service and discipleship. We take teams of young people, place them in an area of need, and help them to serve people and create community. We are committed to the command of Jesus to “love God and love people,” by placing the needs of our neighbors first and developing committed disciples of Christ with a heart for the poor.
