Two years ago, we launched the Mission Year Married Program in Chicago. Up until then, Atlanta was the only city we placed married couples. After taking a year off, I’m very excited to have a married couple team serving in Chicago. In the first year of the Chicago Married program we had one couple who actually moved in with my wife and I. This year we will have two married couples living and doing the program together.

The married team will be hosted by New Mount Pilgrim M.B. Church. Pastor Marshall Hatch, a dynamic preacher and activist, requested the married team since they have only had single teams working with them in the past. The married team will live in West Garfield Park right across from the church.

One of the married couples will begin Mission Year literally days after their honeymoon! The other couple has been married for a couple years and has experience living and serving in China.

I am eager to meet the couples and get them started in their ministry in Chicago. It takes lot of faith and commitment to step out as a couple. Please pray for them as they relocate to Chicago and seek to live out their love for God in the urban context.
