Why I'm Doing Mission Year

My name is Sheehan Clark, I’m 18 years old and in my last year at Penn Manor high school. I chose to do Mission Year because I feel, at this point in my life, that this opportunity is the best way for me to serve Christ and build his kingdom on earth. I hope that the upcoming year helps me choose something more permanent to do with my life; something that involves loving and caring for the least, the last, and the lost. I’m very excited to get started with this new and no doubt challenging journey. I believe that this is where God wants me to be, and i plan to use every moment to “preach good news to the poor, to proclaim freedom for the prisoners, recovery of sight for the blind, and to release the oppressed.”

About Mission Year

Mission Year is a year long urban ministry program focused on Christian service and discipleship. We take teams of young people, place them in an area of need, and help them to serve people and create community. We are committed to the command of Jesus to “love God and love people,” by placing the needs of our neighbors first and developing committed disciples of Christ with a heart for the poor.
