the reason behind my next endeavor: Mission Year
I’m a gal with interest in heart. I’m learning and I’m curious. The Lord has revealed to me many of my weaknesses in the past year, and have begun opening many doors to teach me how to become a better disciple of Him. I want to learn to love the people our Father has created, no matter the barrier in between; and I also want to be loved by them. I want to teach these people, and I want them to teach me. I want these people to teach me about God’s glory, mercy and love, and also about their lives in the inner cities. I want to learn what it’s like to live among trial after trial these people face everyday. I know the only way to make a difference is to live with these people, hear their stories, love them and serve them in any and every opportunity available. I desire to be apart of this ministry because it is based on relational witnessing, which is simply based on loving God’s people and building relationships that invite these people to experience His love. My hope is to be able to learn to love well, despite the forces of violence, drugs and poverty that will constantly be around me. I want to be able to form God-glorifying relationships with people who need His peace, love and joy.
About Mission Year
Mission Year is a year long urban ministry program focused on Christian service and discipleship. We take teams of young people, place them in an area of need, and help them to serve people and create community. We are committed to the command of Jesus to “love God and love people,” by placing the needs of our neighbors first and developing committed disciples of Christ with a heart for the poor.
