Thank you for supporting Mission Year!

We are so grateful for you spreading the word about Mission Year, for the young adults you encourage in service and discipleship, and for your financial gifts. We could not do our work in the neighborhoods without your partnership!

In 2017, Mission Year celebrated 20 years of ministry and over 1.5 million hours of service in our communities. We are proud to be one of the most diverse Christian year-long service programs in the country, developing leaders who will transform the city, the church, and the world.

We share these joys with all of our partners who have shared their financial resources, promoted our program, and prayerfully supported our work. Thank you for being part of this movement.

Christian young adults since 1997 have devoted a year to loving God and loving people in the city through Mission Year.

Total service hours have been provided by Mission Year team members over the last 20 years.

Hours to 40 different community service sites and neighborhood ministries are provided each year.

Hours in neighborhood prayer walks, visitations, and community outreach are provided by Mission Year team members each year.

Of the most at-risk and vulnerable are served in Chicago, Houston, and Philadelphia.

People hear about Jesus through Mission Year team members each year.

"Mission Year played such a crucial role in my story that is still developing. I'll forever be grateful to the Lord for that. Giving of my God-given resources is a small way to show that gratitude.”- Emily Burton
"Now, I can ask deeper questions, approach conflict well, seek reciprocal relationships with those who seem different from me, and give and receive love. These aspects only touch the surface of the deep personal, spiritual, and idealistic change I have undergone through my process at Mission Year. A former supervisor recently noted my transformation by telling me she could sense a peace and calm that I lacked prior to Mission Year. She was absolutely right."- Joe Tatum
“I am confident that my current vocation is merely an extension of what God placed on my heart all those years ago when I was a Mission Year team member. I firmly believe that the pursuit of the Kingdom though social change must include love and compassion on a personal level, but it must also include a sophisticated understanding of systemic injustices in order to be effective against the rulers and powers that oppress the poor and marginalized.”- Chris Bhang

For 20 years, Mission Year has chosen to bear witness to God’s love in communities where the effects of poverty and injustice are felt most severely. We have intentionally come alongside those who are hurting and vulnerable and strategically partnered with local leaders, pastors, churches, and ministries committed to bringing restoration and hope in Christ. We have discipled and trained over a thousand young adults to be Christian leaders with hearts for the poor that are literally changing the world.

We feel extremely blessed by the fruit we continue to see year after year. The gospel is being shared, deep bonds of relationships formed, stereotypes overcome, youth mentored, the homeless empowered, and neighborhoods are being revitalized through holistic community development.

Thank you for helping us operate each year in the best financial position possible. Fiscal responsibility and financial sustainability are of the utmost importance so we can be a long-term presence in the communities where we serve. Thank you for sustaining this movement through your generous support.
